Armstrong: 6.5 - 0.5 v Celbridge

On a damp Tuesday evening 7 Elm Mount players made their way through the rush-hour traffic to the Ardclough GAA club where Celbridge play (the board 3 game was postponed). The match result was a triumph for Elm Mount. Michal drew with Joe Noone of Celbridge on board 1 and the rest of the team (David, Zygis, Ray, Ciaran, Oliver and Alan) all won. Our best win yet this season!

Heidenfeld"B" update

Our round 1 "Derby" match ended 4-4. Our round 2 match has still one ongoing adjournment. Round 3 had us playing against Kilkenny. For this match we needed one substitution. With six games played on Saturday 22nd October, we shared the honours with the match standing at 3-3. Game 7 was played on Monday and resulted in an unfortunate loss for us. The match now stands at 4-3 for Kilkenny

Final standing from round 3
Our last game was played by the newest member to the team, Ray Hearty, who is back after spell away from the club. Playing on board 5 the game finished in a draw. This leaves the final score from round 3 - Elm Mount"B" 3½ Kilkenny 4½.

Round 2 final result
The last outstanding adjournment from round 2, Bray/Greystones v Elm Mount"B" ended in defeat for Greg. The game did not look promising from the resumption but play lasted 2½ hours anyway. This gives a a final result of Bray/Greystones 3½ Elm Mount"B" 4½.

Armstrong: Phibsboro B v Elm Mount

On a wet and miserable Monday evening, 6 of the Armstrong team met at An Óige in Mountjoy Street to take on Phibsboro's B team. The only bright spot of the evening was Oliver's quick win. Only one other game finished on the night, Alan drawing and Michael, Zygis, Ciaran and Gerry adjourning. The remaining 2 games are to be played on Thursday.

Update
David and Tomas both won their games on Thursday and Zygis's adjourned game was drawn so the score is currently Elm Mount 4 Phibsboro B 1

Update - final score 6-2!
We won the match 6-2 in the end, thanks to a fortunate adjournment win in my game. Michal, Zygis and Gerry agreed draws. Such a good result seemed very unlikely at 11:00pm at the end of the first session.
